ALPAMAYO-CEDROS CIRCUIT

Service Description

Day 1 - Departing for Hualcayan (Los Cedros trek trail), we drive for a couple of hours to reach the town. Load carrying animals and begin the trek, lasting 4-5 hours (3,800 meters), and enjoy a spectacular evening and sunset view on our first night under a thousands stars in our tents. Day 2 - The trail starts uphill right from the campsite. We will start our day with a super breakfast to face our day's challenge with confidence and strong solid steps. This valley offers differing and great views to leave you with lasting memories. We have 5-6 hours of walking to reach the camp along the route (4,500 meters). Day 3 - Rest day with options to walk around and enjoy stunning views of "the most beautiful mountain in the world," Alpamayo. Day 4 - We will have two passes to cross and we will camp near a small farm where you might spot an alpaca, among other animals and wildlife such as condors, foxes, etc. Day 5 - We reach another pass at 4,600 meters, eating lunch with a beautiful view at the Sactaycocha lake shore and camping near the Pucajirca waterfall that runs down through the steep slopes of the mountain. Day 6 - Our trail today involves a gentle climb and begins toward Tupatupa. This will be our day pass, where you will see an overview of the northern peaks of the Cordillera Blanca. Later, we head down the other side, near the village of Quisuar to find the camp already set up for us. Day 7 - Today our walk gives us a new surprise with a rock face at the pass to Pucaraju, a steep rocky path that leads to the fertile valley of Huaripampa. Here, we will set up camp and enjoy the last 2 nights in the mountains. Day 8 - Wake-up and pre pack your backpack, the table awaits with a delicious and healthy breakfast. We will make our way over the Punta Union Pass (4,750 meters) where we will be treated to a view of the incredible snow-capped peaks over 6,000 meters and on the other side of Taullipampa’s gorgeous countryside. This is the last night of the trip, so we will ask our chef to open the wine and celebrate! Day 9 - Continue along the valley of Santa Cruz to the Cashapampa village where transport will be waiting to take us back to Huaraz for a hot shower, a good city meal to celebrate the end of the trek, and a night of rest at your hotel.
